My name is Maria, I'm a mother of three, Alex, Fran, and Jimena, and a little over eight years ago my life changed completely. Before entering this wonderful world, I was a medical representative. Nothing made me happier than my job; I felt completely fulfilled professionally.
So how does a medical representative end up baking cakes and pastries? Well, as we all know, life takes many turns. My three children were born close together during the best period of my professional life, and like many other women, I had to choose between my career and my children. I felt the need to share my time with them; I wanted to be present for every important moment in their lives, I didn't want to miss a thing. I spent countless days at home, watching American baking shows. It was then that I realized, if that person could bake cakes, why couldn't I? What was the difference between them and me? I understood that it was all about training (as I always say, never stop learning, no matter your age; training is the most important thing). I began my training by taking courses all over Spain until I found a school where I could take all the courses I wanted and learn all the techniques. From that moment on, my friends and family, to whom I am very grateful, began entrusting me with the cakes and sweets for their celebrations.
Then one day, eight years ago, I decided to take the plunge. I rented a shop and started balancing raising my three children with my passion for baking, and I created Inigual. Why Inigual? Because my dream has always been for you to have an experience like no other, from the moment you come to our shop to ask questions, until you take our sweets home. We always want that feeling to be UNMATCHED.
In 2021, after a very difficult year of the pandemic, I knew it was time. It was all or nothing. I bought my own place where, since then, I've been teaching both children and adults, but everyone enjoys it as if they were four years old. Seeing how you connect with your inner child, or the look of surprise and pride on the faces of the little ones when they make cookies with their own hands or when they celebrate their birthdays with their friends in our workshop, the laughter, and knowing that they are the future… It makes my heart feel completely full.
